Student Research Conference York UK

On Thursday 27 June eight of our student scientists showcased their cutting-edge research findings at the Institute for Research in Schools conference at the National STEM Learning Centre in York UK.

The conference provided an opportunity for our students to present their research to their international peers and an audience of invited guests from the scientific community.

Our students presented their findings from their research into the problem "Could the wool carpets in schools not only be replaced with recyled carpets, but also pulped and turned into fertiliser?" Overall it was found that all 10% wool pulp garden beds had higher growth rates!

The outcome of this research could see better use made of all of the carpets throughout our school system which would have a real world impact and a huge bonus for the environment.
