Library

Dynamic learning areas

The library has been refurbished to accommodate the needs of twenty-first century learners. Extra computing facilities have been added and students are benefiting from their engagement with learning tasks as they work collaboratively or individually. A variety of comfortable furniture is arranged to suit diverse learning styles and to accommodate multiple class groups as well as students undertaking independent study.

Reading is encouraged

A Book Nook has been created for the pure enjoyment of reading. Vibrant displays on the new digital signage screen promote interesting new resources. Reading lists for each year are available via the Oliver library website.

Flexible work spaces

Students are encouraged to enjoy working in the library and to respect the learning of other students as they work together in this shared learning space. The new colour scheme and newly carpeted areas have created a place where students are able to relax as they engage with a variety of learning tasks.

School iPads

Cumberland High School currently owns 180 iPads to support and enhance student learning. These iPads will operate as class sets that can booked by teachers. Our school has 3 computer labs and 7 class sets of iPads. We have several informational videos to support the use of these iPads. The videos cover the following programs:

We also have video resources available specifically for staff members.
