On Thursday 5th June two of our aspiring female leaders headed into the city to visit Parliament and attend the Young Women's Leadership Seminar.
The Seminar started with a talk from Nina Earl, a science Curator and Communicator who in 2018 participated in the Homeward Bound Expedition to Antartica. She gave a compelling talk about her leadership journey.
She shared four ideas that she felt important to becoming a leader:
1. Take the plunge - the first step is always the hardest
2. Have Integrity - always be the best you
3. Never give up - especially when things get really, really bad
4. Believe in yourself - even when no one else seems to
There was also time to meet three female parliamentarians and to witness a division in the Upper House.
This was a fantastic experience for the girls and hopefully an inspiring one.
Lets look out for the girls in future elections!
